完整的實驗設備
本系目前已斥資千萬元成立普通物理實驗室,大二及大三基礎物理實驗室。並已陸續規劃並進行特色學程實驗室的設立,其中包括實驗物理技術、光電物理、生物物理、計算物理、與材料物理等實驗室。
目前除擁有高速光纖網路與先進電腦設備,滿足研究與教學需要外,實驗室內已設置諸多先進研究設備,例如紅外線光譜儀、超高真空系統、超短脈衝雷射系統、鎖相放大系統、低溫系統、材料比熱與熱電性量測系統。去年度設立完成的理工學院機械工廠,與陸續將規劃成立的理工學院電子工廠、樣品準備室、零件供應室,對本系教授研究的進行,提供了便利的資源。今年度本系將成立表面物理與生物物理研究實驗室,採購相關量測技術與系統,例如變溫掃瞄穿透顯微鏡、原子力暨磁力顯微鏡、電磁共振儀與電子參數共振儀。
優良的教學環境
本系也建置了基礎理論教室,提供高中生升上大學的知識銜接課程實驗,更配置多組基礎實驗器材以映證基礎物理數據理論,老師授課完成同時,同學們便可直接以分組的方式互相觀摩與操作,每周溫故知新,奠定未來實驗室操作基礎。
自主的實驗室風氣
各實驗室在教授帶領的團隊下,優良的學生進駐進行長期的研究,延續著良好的傳統,實驗室的同學們除了進行儀器操作外,每個實驗室都會自行布置溫馨環境,舉辦同樂交流活動,更增進團隊的向心力,提升對專題研究的熱誠。

Comprehensive Laboratory Facilities
Our department has invested tens of millions of NT dollars to establish General Physics Laboratories, as well as fundamental physics labs for sophomore and junior students. We are also developing specialized program laboratories, including Experimental Physics Techniques, Optoelectronics Physics, Biophysics, Computational Physics, and Materials Physics.
In addition to high-speed fiber-optic networks and advanced computing equipment that support both research and teaching, our labs are equipped with cutting-edge instruments such as infrared spectrometers, ultra-high vacuum systems, femtosecond laser systems, lock-in amplifiers, cryogenic systems, and systems for measuring specific heat and thermoelectric properties of materials.
The College of Science and Engineering's mechanical workshop was established last year, with plans underway for an electronics workshop, sample preparation lab, and component supply room. These facilities provide valuable resources for faculty research. This year, we are also establishing Surface Physics and Biophysics Research Labs, which will be equipped with advanced instruments including variable-temperature scanning tunneling microscopes, atomic force and magnetic force microscopes, electromagnetic resonance instruments, and electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometers.
Excellent Teaching Environment
Our department has also established theoretical foundation classrooms to help high school graduates transition smoothly into university-level physics. These classrooms are equipped with multiple sets of basic experimental apparatus that help demonstrate theoretical physics concepts. After lectures, students engage in hands-on group experiments to reinforce their learning, providing a solid foundation for future lab work.
Independent Lab Culture
Under the guidance of professors, students in each lab engage in long-term research, continuing a tradition of excellence. Besides instrument operation, students also decorate their labs to create a warm and welcoming environment. They often organize social and team-building activities, which help foster a strong sense of community and enhance enthusiasm for research.
